Coryell County Community Wildfire Plan (CWPP)

Coryell County CWPP Overview
The American Conservation Foundation (ACF) developed the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for Coryell County, Texas, in coordination with the county and other stakeholders. The CWPP, completed and approved in accordance with Title I of the Healthy Forest Restoration Act of 2003 and the Texas A&M Forest Service CWPP Review Standards and Criteria Guide, became effective on October 26, 2023.

The purpose of the CWPP is to reduce the risk of wildfire and property loss, while establishing a more fire-resilient environment and promoting ecosystem health. This comprehensive plan enhances public safety by mitigating wildfire risks, improving emergency preparedness, and strengthening response and recovery efforts. By facilitating collaboration among local governments, landowners, and emergency responders, ACF’s work on the CWPP helps protect human life, safeguard natural resources, and build a more wildfire-resilient community.
